Brooke's Spring Bucket List | Beachly Tips

Spring Bucket List - girl in ocean soaking in the sun. Light orange sky in the back and bright swimsuit

Hey there, sunshine! While it's still cold across the country, there's nothing getting me through the Winter quite like looking ahead to the warmer days. I cannot wait to feel the sun on my skin, see some tan-lines, and welcome in longer days. To get you excited for the season ahead, I decided to throw together a Spring bucket list that is full of adventure, sweet treats, and relaxing activities for days spent under the sun.

Whether you're in sunshine-y Hawaii, the chilly midwest, or the hustle and bustle of the east coast, there are so many ways you can start to welcome in the sunshine state of mind. Let's dive right in.

Hidden Beaches of Hawaii

1. Honokalani Beach, Maui

With its jet-black shore, aquamarine waters, and thick, jungle-like foliage, Honokalani Beach in Hana is a photographer’s dream. Besides lying lazily on the “sand”—actually made up of of tiny lava pebbles—there’s plenty to do: You’ll find seaside lava tubes and sea caves carved into the lava cliffs along the shore. It’s wild, unspoiled Hawaii at its best, and a necessary stop en route to Hana.

2. Makapu’u Beach, Oahu

Though it’s a mere pocket of sand—just a quarter-mile long—Makapu’u Beach is undoubtedly one of Oahu’s most scenic shorelines. Backed by the high lava rock cliffs of Makapu’u Point, its shore is wide and golden, and its waters are cool and iridescent.

3. Secret Beach, Kauai

Nestled between Kalihiwai Bay and Kilauea Point, it’s located far off the tourist track and accessible only by a rocky, unmarked trail. Lava rocks border the beach on both sides and jutting red cliffs cloaked by lush vegetation and cascading waterfalls form a dramatic backdrop.

Snag a Sweet Treat

If you're a Hawaii native or a fan of the island escape, you may have heard of the Sunrise Shack. Whether it's an island-time coffee or a smoothie bowl jam packed with fresh fruit, this is one place that is a must-visit when the days start to warm up.

Dive into a New Book

There's nothing like laying under the sun, getting a nice tan, and reading a good book. Looking to soak up the sun in real life and get a sunshine-y vibe from your new favorite novel? My favorite warm-seasoned read is Beach Read by Emily Henry. Not only is it an easy read, but it's funny and sure to transport you to warmer days.
